What do I need to provide before my web design project starts?
The single fastest way to keep your web design project on schedule is to show up to kickoff with your materials ready. A client who delivers everything in week one gets a faster launch, fewer revision cycles, and a sharper final product. Here’s the complete list of what you need.
Brand Assets
- Logo files: Vector format (.ai, .eps, or .svg) is ideal. A high-resolution .png will work if that’s what you have. Avoid sending a logo pulled off your old website — the quality is usually too low.
- Brand colors: Hex codes if you have them. If you’re not sure, pull the exact colors from your existing materials and we’ll match them.
- Any fonts you’re currently using, if your brand has established typography.
Content
- Service descriptions: What you do, who you serve, what makes you different. Even rough bullet points are a useful starting point.
- Target cities and service areas: If you serve Dallas, Plano, and Frisco, we need to know that upfront — it shapes the page structure and local SEO from day one.
- About and team information: Your story, credentials, years in business, and any staff bios or headshots.
- Any legal or compliance text: Licenses, disclaimers, privacy policy — especially relevant for medical, legal, and financial businesses.
Photos
Real photos of your team, your work, and your location convert better than stock photography. Even iPhone photos taken in good light beat generic stock. Send us what you have and we’ll tell you if we need more. If professional photography isn’t in the budget yet, we can source curated stock that doesn’t look generic — but original photos are always the goal.
Your Existing Site
Give us access to your current website, analytics, and Google Search Console if they exist. Any page that’s currently ranking or driving traffic needs to be identified before we redesign — we protect that equity, not torch it. This is part of our standard process for every custom website build.
You don’t need everything perfect before we start — but the more you have ready, the faster and cheaper your project runs. Get in touch and we’ll send you our full client onboarding checklist before kickoff.
